Part of Meir Schwartzman’s lecture at the Bais Yaakov conference in Siedlce addressed the importance of teaching Hebrew in BY schools. It was argued that, while there is a concern about girls reading secular modern Hebrew literature, the schools already teach German, which also has a substantial amount of secular literature.
