The not entirely legible sign held by the girls reads: “To our teacher Sarah, Go in peace and arrive in peace. The Bnos chapter of Lechowitz, 15 Adar 1 [February 26], 1937.” Devorah Epelgrad (Cohn) is sitting one row above and just to the left of the sign, with a dotted collar.

The notation by Devorah Epelgrad Cohn reads, “before Sorke Karelitz’s departure for Israel”.
